I have been tasked with planning my company’s corporate retreat this year and I was asked to make sure it is effectively branded. What are some creative ways to brand a party without just using our logo on everything?
Branding an event should be specific to the message of the host and stay true to the core values of the company/client. During the discovery process E5 digs deep to find what message will be conveyed during the event and the best way for guests to take that away with them after the event is long over.
I have always believed branding has to do more with what feelings you evoke rather what you see. Visually branding may be the most used and perhaps seen as the easiest way to brand an event. However, I believe you have to ‘ignite the senses’ and you have 4 other senses that can be used to effectively brand your event! I always ask, what do you want your guests to FEEL when they enter the event?
Bring the brand into the menu presentation for taste. If your brand was tangible, what would if feel like? Bring those textures into your decor, flooring, furniture to immerse your guests into your brand. Is your message subtle or is it extroverted? Use sounds, music, presenters that reflect that in the sound of your event to ensure that your guests are actually ‘feeling’ your brand.
Throwing a logo every place may not be as effective as one might think if there is specific message behind it. With effective branding from invitation to event, your guests will already know who is hosting the event and random logo placement will be seen just as that.
